What to do with a Pile of Pults?

Hey Schemanske’s Corner readers! It’s Josh here, back with a new article where I will be talking about my take on the development of the meta post-Atlanta Regional Championships. For those who have been keeping up to date, we saw Henry Chao take down his 3rd Regional of the season with a very cool Gardevoir ex/N’s Zoroark ex deck (which I played as well, thank you Bradner). While Gardevoir won the tournament, there was clearly an archetypal winner in Dragapult ex. Between the 2 variants of Dragapult Dusknoir and Straight, it occupied 18 of the Top 32 slots and 5 of the Top 8, an absolutely insane feat for a deck this early on in a format. Rounding out the top 16 were meta staples, Terapagos Bouffalant, Gholdengo ex, and Poison Archaludon. I believe this tournament should cement Dragapult and Gardevoir as the 2 best decks by far; but thanks in part to public sentiment about the difficulty of Gardevoir ex, we should assume that Dragapult will be by far the most played deck in tournaments going forward.

So, what do we do with a pile of Pults? Today I aim to answer that question by going over my “Top 5” techs, tips and lists that I feel can stand up to the child-throwing beast.
