As you probably know, Dragapult ex is likely the best deck in the upcoming Twilight Masquerade format. It has been dominating Japan's City League tournaments, getting up to 30% of top 16 placements in some weeks. I would have loved to write a guide about Dragapult ex itself, but there are many Dragapult variants (with Xatu, Pidgeot ex, the Lost Zone engine, Armarouge + Magma Basin...) and I have not yet tested all of them. While Dragapult ex is an undeniably powerful cards, I haven't found a decklist that I really clicked with yet, so it would be unreasonable to write a Dragapult ex guide.
And yet if you're attending NAIC, or planning to play in any tournaments in the Twilight Masquerade format (sure, there will be no official tournaments in June after NAIC, but plenty of players will want to get a head start for the new season in July), you need to be prepared for Dragapult ex. If you're not playing it, you need a plan to beat it. (Even if you're playing it, actually.) That's why my goal today is to talk about various decks and strategies you can use to beat Dragapult ex, or at least have a good shot.
