The Unlikely Return of Giratina VStar
Cyrus Davis covers why she thinks that Giratina VStar may be a sleeper pick for Baltimore Regionals.
Hey folks, welcome back to Schemanske’s Corner! The World Championships is behind us now and the meta has been completely shaken up. Top 8 of this year’s World Championships was full of highly aggressive strategies looking to get the jump on Regidrago VStar players, and each other. However, Iron Thorns ex came out on top, preventing dozens of Summoning Star, Infernal Reign, Concealed Cards and most importantly Teal Dance activations over the course of the weekend.
Where does this leave us going into Baltimore? Well many decks seem to be gate kept out of the meta by the five decks that dominated the Masters division of the World Championships. Regidrago VStar, Raging Bolt ex, Roaring Moon ex, Miraidon ex, and Iron Thorns ex create quite a high bar to overcome.
One off the radar deck that is among the few decks that doesn’t mind playing against any of the five mentioned above just so happens to be one of my favorite decks from last season, Giratina VStar. I’ll tackle exactly how we want to approach each of these matchups and more soon but first let’s see what a current deck list would even look like for the deck.
