The Meta After Pittsburgh, Barcelona, & 151 Initial Thoughts
Hello readers, and welcome back to another article. I really meant to have at least one other article out before this, but I didn’t account for my power going out for almost a week and then the new semester hitting me as hard as it did. I also got sick. Oops? I was halfway through a Charizard article when my laptop died during the power outage, and I lost the part that I had completed because I wasn’t paying attention. Fun fact, that really kills one’s motivation to write it again. Somewhat fortunately, my Urshifu article held up quite well in the time between it and Pittsburgh. Anything I would have written with my true thoughts would basically have been “Yeah, Urshifu is a good deck and I'm going to play the same list again.” Regardless, here we are, Pittsburgh is over, Urshifu was a good play, and the format is basically over. Yay.
Today’s article is going to recap the meta after Pittsburgh and then give my initial thoughts on what’s going to change after 151 drops before Peoria. Obviously, there are still countless League Cups, and non-NA Regionals/SPEs that will happen in this format, so it’s not totally dead yet. Most of you are based in North America though, so it would feel bad to focus only on the current format.
