Welcome back! It's been a while since I've written for Schemanske's Corner. In the two months since my last article, I of course competed in the World Championships, where I decided to play Miraidon ex. I started 4-0 (3-0 if you don't count the round 1 bye) but eventually ended up at 5-0-2. I could have ID'd to secure day 2, but I thought this was a similar decision to IDing at 6-2 at Regionals: the goal is not to simply make day 2, but to reach the very top of the standings (or at the very least top 32, since there are absolutely no prizes of any kind at the World Championships for the 33rd player and below), so there's no point in IDing before that, especially since I felt that the matchup (Regidrago) was favoring me. I got swiftly punished, losing 2-0 due to a combination of poor draws on my part and smart play from my opponent. Nevertheless, I don't regret my decision.
